Australian Gemini Undergraduate Summer Students (Gemini Observatory)
"Summer Student Research Results"
Abstract. The Australian Gemini Undergraduate Summer Studentship (AGUSS) program offers 2 talented undergraduate students from Australian universities to spend 10 weeks based in Chile working on research projects with staff at the Gemini Observatory, as well as visit the Gemini South and Magellan telescopes. Rebecca Davies (ANU) has worked with Mischa Schirmer on a project using GMOS IFU data to investigate the nature of "Green Been" galaxies at z = 0.3, which have extremely luminous and very extended narrow line regions. Marcus Wong (Monash) has been analysing GSAOI data for the "Antennae" galaxy with Rodrigo Carrasco, and with Blair Conn on data from the EmPhaSSis survey of the LMC.
